Forskarna s\u00e4ger att det beh\u00f6vs mer forskning (som alltid) innan de kan dra slutsatser till 100 %, men resultaten \u00e4r mycket lovande. I pressmeddelandet s\u00e4ger Dr Susanna C Larsson vid Karolinska Institutet i Stockholm att studien bygger p\u00e5 data fr\u00e5n n\u00e4stan 10 000 personer. Forskarna analyserade den stora datam\u00e4ngden med en relativt ny metod som kallas Mendelsk randomisering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Det \u00e4r en metod som g\u00f6r att man kan ta h\u00e4nsyn till m\u00e4nniskors gener. Specifikt i detta fall valde forskargruppen de tv\u00e5 genvariationerna CYP1A2 och AHR, som \u00e4r associerade med l\u00e4gre koffeinmetabolism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Genvariationerna g\u00f6r med andra ord att koffeinet du konsumerar stannar l\u00e4ngre i kroppen \u00e4n hos andra som inte har de genetiska variationerna i fr\u00e5ga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Koffein har effekten att \u00f6ka hj\u00e4rnans energioms\u00e4ttning och \u00f6ka koncentrationen av de tv\u00e5 viktiga signal\u00e4mnena dopamin och serotonin i det centrala nervsystemet.
Dopamin \u00e4r n\u00f6dv\u00e4ndigt f\u00f6r att vi ska kunna r\u00f6ra oss och samordna r\u00f6relser effektivt. Samtidigt spelar signalsubstansen en viktig roll f\u00f6r att reglera v\u00e5ra k\u00e4nslor och hum\u00f6r. Serotonin har ocks\u00e5 en positiv effekt p\u00e5 v\u00e5rt hum\u00f6r.
Enligt forskarna drack personer med de tv\u00e5 genvariationerna i genomsnitt mindre kaffe \u00e4n andra. Men trots det var koffeinniv\u00e5erna i blodet h\u00f6gre \u00e4n i de utan genvariationerna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forskarnas analys visade ocks\u00e5 att personerna med genvariationerna hade ett l\u00e4gre BMI och en l\u00e4gre risk f\u00f6r typ 2-diabetes j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med resten av personerna. P\u00e5 den andra sidan kunde forskarna inte se ett samband mellan genvariationerna och en l\u00e4gre f\u00f6rekomst av hj\u00e4rt- och k\u00e4rlsjukdomar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
